Even though I have see some improvements in the over 20 years I’ve been the hair & beauty industry, I knew there had to be more, nothing was really being done to make MAJOR improvements and this really bothered me to the core.

This is quite evident when looking at the support that the black beauty bloggers and content creators who market and give these products exposure. SisCare was born to even out the playing field.

My name is Helen Leonard, I am the founder and owner of SisCare. Like most women of colour living in the western world, I grew up struggling to find an online platform where Afro hair and beauty is celebrated and I mean really celebrated, not just featured to fill some inferior space. I wanted to see places that sisterhood and representation were focused on. Where black Queens did not feel left behind by the mainstream beauty and hair industry.
